Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette Review

I actually did this review a while ago, but honestly put posting it on the backburner for whatever reasons…

I know this palette has been out for a while and I filmed this video a while ago, but thought that I would upload it anyway to share my thoughts on this palette.  I will later be bringing you guys some looks with this palette so please check out this video and stay tuned for that!

ABH did an awesome job with the formulation in this palette. The shadows in this palette are so pigmented and blends like a dream!  I love that this is a “neutral” palette, but the shades are different than what we were seeing for a while since the whole neutral eyeshadow palette revolution.

Many people feel like the shades in this palette work great for Fall.  In my opinion, this palette is a GREAT Fall palette, but I feel like you could do wonders with it during the warmer months, because of the warm shades available.

Check out these shades tho’!

Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair

As you may know, I have been on a healthy haircare journey for quite some time now.  Over the years, I have tried MANY hair care products and plead guilty for being a product junkie!

The bright side to being a self-professed “product junkie, is that I can bring you guys reviews on products to potentially help you make more educated decisions.  Recently, I picked up a few products from Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair. I’ve been wanting to try these products for some time now, so I decided to pick up the products that I was most interested in, which was the shampoo, conditioner and curl activator cream.  Here are my thoughts…

Cleansing Cream Shampoo:  Great for deeply cleansing the hair,  Created without sulfates, but still provides a reach lather that can help with detangling; Has a tropical scent of pinna colada or coconut.  Verdict:  Good! Love that this shampoo lathers REALLY well and did a great job at cleansing my hair. This did leave my hair a bit hard to detangle, after I treated my hair with a light protein treatment a couple of times, but this did not happen at all prior to me doing the protein treatments.

Hydrating Cream Conditioner: Created to provide hydration and moisture to the hair after cleansing; Provides “slip” for detangling; Has the same tropical scent as the shampoo.  Verdict: OK. Did its job. This conditioner did not wow me, BUT it does do its job in hydrating the hair,  provided a good amount of slip on my very curly-kinky natural hair during detangling, especially for the price point.

Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream: Great for smoothing frizz, moisturizing the hair, and enhancing natural curl pattern during styling;  Has the same tropical scent as the shampoo and conditioner.  Verdict:  OK. Did a good job moisturizing my hair and helping take care of frizz.  This would be good for wash and go styles.  However, this product was kind of sticky and leaves a white cast on the hair once dried. I tend to have this issue with Cantu Shea Butter’s products for some reason, even if I am light-handed with the product. I did find that this worked best on slightly damp to wet hair, but overall, I would say there are other products out there within the same price point, that I would prefer.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post.  If you want additional information about this products on just want to reach out to me, feel free to comment or hit me up on my other social media platforms as well.  Until next time….live life glamorously!

Operation Project Pan: Finish 13 by Halloween

With makeup hoarding (we beauty junkies would rather call it “collecting”) at an all-time high and seemingly growing in popularity, I decided to join the YouTube Challenge Bandwagon (pretty late, I’ll admit) and participate in the one of the Project Pan challenges to finish 13 products by Halloween. I think I’ll also be joining the “Pan that Palette” challenge, just because it all ties together…but more on that later.

Being that I am starting in September, I realize that time is extremely limited so I have to really be on top of it!  I am excited to participate in this challenge because I LOVE beauty products, and I’ll admit, that I’m a beauty junkie, but it is important to me, to actually use what I have.  I ‘m not the wasteful type and would rather make use out of what I have, but how easy is it to get caught up in the excitement of a new product and forget or neglect the others?  And isn’t it easy to think that all of our other products will last forever (they totally don’t by the way), and in a sense, blow off using what we currently own or cut back on using it altogether and cheat on our once Beloved with our new fling? It’s so easy…especially with so many options!

In this video, I talk about the products that I will be focusing on during this challenge.  I plan to try really hard to use as much of each of the products as possible.  Hopefully I will be able to get through them and use them all up!

Check out my video, where I get more in-depth.

  1. Clear Scalp & Hair Ultra Shea Cleanse and Nourish Shampoo0

October Ipsy Glam Bag

October Ipsy Glam Bag

Octobber Ipsy Glam Bag-Flip Side

October Ipsy Glam Bag-Flip Side

Did I really forget to share with you guys what I received this month in my October Ipsy glam bag??

I think I did! I guess it’s better late than never (…for those who are always curious to know what others received, in comparison to their own goodies, of course).

This month, I really do like the design of the bag.  The theme? “ALTER EGO”.

It’s two-toned, one side being gold and the other side is black patent leather…give me gold and patent leather any day and I’m excited!

Now it’s time to give you the goods…

Delectable Ultra Nourishing Hand Cream in

Delectable Ultra Nourishing Hand Cream in “Coconut & Cream”

This hand cream smells amazing, works amazing and left my hands feeling amazing. I love the scent of this! It smells really nice without being too overpowering…it’s a nice clean scent and it lives up to being “ultra moisturizing”.  It also has some good ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, aloe vera juice, and coconut fruit extract.  And the added bonus?  It has no parabens, sodium chloride, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, GMOs, mineral oil, petrolatum, gluten, or triclosan.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliate

I absolutely love this product!  It is by far the best at home microdermabrasion product that I have tried thus far.  I love everything about it, the scent (which is sort of citrusy), the formula, the way it rinses off the skin easily and the fact that it is not too abrasive.  It’s invigorating and leaves the skin smooth, clear and radiant.  5 stars people…5 stars.

Dose Color Pill Nail Polish in

Dose Color Pill Nail Polish in “Stormy”

How cute and creative is the packaging for this nail polish?  However, I do have to put out a disclaimer regarding this design:

Please note: It’s shape doesn’t allow for you to stand it on your nail polish rack.

But us Glamouristas always figure it out, don’t we? We don’t let things like storing a product get in our way!

It’s also in a shade that I would not normally choose for myself, so to receive it in my Ipsy bag was a good thing because it allowed me not only to try a new brand, but to also try a new nail shade. It’s color is best described as “smoky purple”. This was another product where the formula was nice and the polish glided on smoothly and was fast drying, which is always super important to me.  Nobody likes to wait forever for their nail lacquer to dry…what a pain!  The size of this product makes it PERFECT for travel.

Emite Make Up Professional Slant Tweezers

Emite Make Up Professional Slant Tweezers

I needed a new pair of tweezers and this one that was sent to me came in my favorite color and is very precise in removing those stubborn hairs…enough said.

The Balm Cosmetics

The Balm Cosmetics “Meet Matte Hughes” Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick

So glad that this came in my Ipsy bag…It is a MUST buy!  Sometimes I find myself to be skeptical about matte lip colors, especially since I have full lips and other formulas I’ve tried tend to be drying.  This is an exception! I love the formula of this product. It is very lightweight and it worked as the perfect nude shade for me and my light-deep complexion. This brand seems to always impress me with their creative packaging and their cult-worthy product line. I will be adding this to my shopping list!
