What Glamourstry Is All About

Hey Glamoristas/Beauties/Dolls!

So lately, I have been thinking a lot about many different things, and one of those things included the reason I decided to start my Glamourstry blog and YouTube channel.  One of the reasons I began this blog was because I wanted to chronicle my journey to creating a more glamorous self, in all areas of my life, but especially when it comes to beauty. I wanted to inspire others to do the same, and hopefully, build a community to where we can all learn and grow with each other.

For as long as I can remember, I have always been attracted to things and people that I felt epitomized glamour.  My Pinterest account is a reflection of my personal interest, style and a collection of what I view as very glamorous things, including home decor. I love magazines and all of those old movies and Hollywood icons from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Oh…and let’s not forget pin-up girls who all depicted glamour, sophistication and an allure so compelling that their styles and flare has lived and been mimicked throughout time, even up to present day!

Dita Von Teese is a Modern-Day Example of Eccentric Glamour

We have strayed away from the sophistication of dressing up and steered towards what some would refer to as ‘practicality’.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking  anyone who enjoys dressing down and throwing on a good comfortable pair of sneakers.  All I am saying is…I appreciate a time when women AND men went out of their way to look their best and ensured a certain standard in everything that they do.

Bring on the rouge lips, high heels, nice dresses and all things that sparkles and shines! Bring on the empowerment that comes from looking and feeling your best and letting your allure do the attracting all on its on. I am on a journey to that…creating more glamour in my life…embracing my inner diva…and I welcome anyone, who wishes to go on the journey with me! To see videos of this journey, visit my channel. I’ll be waiting for you there!

Chocolate Bar Unwrapped-Wrap Up

Hey Dolls!
In this video, I show you the last four looks I created using the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I decided to group all four of these looks into one video in just to make it easier for you to get your last chocolate fix. See how considerate I am?

These looks range from simple and sophisticated, to dramatic, but the one thing that they all have in common, is that they are easy to create.

So, my seven looks using the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette has come to an end.

Oh my goodness, is this really the end?  Am I done with the chocolate? Well, of course the answer is a “NO”! How could I ever be done with chocolate?? There’s always room for chocolate, even if its in my makeup!

I really like this palette and again, I still can’t get over how delicious it smells…even after having it for a while, so of course will be using it more in the future, but for now, we have unwrapped this palette enough and now its time to wrap it up (At least for a little while)!

Now that we have conquered another palette together, I want to know if there is anything that you guys would like to see?  Let me know!  I am always open to your suggestions and feedback.

Until next time, beautiful people…be sure to live life glamorously!

Ooo…Chocolate! Too Faced Chocolate Bar Look 1

Hey Dolls!

Yesterday, I uploaded a video using the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette.  I LOVE this palette!  This shades in this palette are GORG and you get a nice mix of satin and matte shades.  The best feature of all…IT SMELLS LIKE CHOCOLATE! Which I am sure you may already know by now due to its popularity (and also the fact that its been out for quite some time now).

Like most gals out there, I LOVE me some chocolate and I will take it in my makeup as well…don’t mind if I do!

This look is part of the Inspiration Before Expiration series.  I was able to use this palette for eye shadow (Yep..Captain Obviously here), cheek color, contouring and even for my highlight with this look.  This look, as many of my others, is super simple and you will be able to pull it off in no time.

Hopefully,  you’ve enjoyed this video.  Please don’t forget to share this post if you liked this video and subscribe to my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/glamourstry if you have not done so already. so you can get my latest content. Until we meet again, stay glamorous!

Inspiration Before Expiration| Too Faced Natural Matte: Look 7

Hey Glamour Babes!

So we FINALLY made it to Look 7!  Yay!  It is has been exciting to see what kinds of looks I could come up with this palette.

I started this series, because I wanted to challenge myself and inspire others to get the most use out of their palettes as possible, and I will admit, I had some high and lows. There were times when I felt GEEKED to use an all matte palette, and then other times, I wanted to reach for other palettes becomes sometimes I can appreciate a good satin, foil,  or shimmer shade in the mix! However, I stuck it through because there are some people out there who may ONLY have this one palette, so I wanted to try to stick to using just this one, which was the intended point in the first place!

This the look I came up with.  This look is definitely more dramatic than any of the other looks that I have previously done with this palette, in my opinion.  I LOVE it!  It’s something extra sexy and sultry about a smokey eye and it’s always classic!

This is a great option for a night on the town or if you just wanna bring out your inner “Miss Fierce”!

I  truly hope you enjoy and until  my next one…be glamorous!

Inspiration Before Expiration| Too Faced Natural Matte: Look 6

Hey Glamour Babes,

I’m excited to bring you Look 6 of 7  of “Inspiration Before Expiration” using the Too Faced Natural Matte palette.  This look is a little different than the other looks that I have created before with this palette as it is a little more on the dramatic side.  I wanted to try a variety of looks for different occasions, whether it’s a night on the town or just wanting to feel a little more adventurous!

I’m excited to be closer to the goal of creating 7 Looks with the Too Faced Natural Matte palette. There is only one more look to go before we wrap up with this palette and of course, more is yet to come.  If you have not done so already, please check out the Looks 1-5 for more look options and inspiration.  As always, I hope you guys enjoy the video and until the next one…have a glamorous day!

Eyeshadow Application Steps:

  1. Strapless:  Apply this shade to the crease then blend out edges with a fluffy brush.
  2. Chocolate Cookie:  Blend this shade over Strapless for dimension
  3. Risque:  Use this shade to go over the cut crease that was created with a brown eyeliner to soften the harsh lines of the liner.
  4. Laced Teddy:  This shade is to set the concealer that was applied the eyelid and tone down the shade of the concealer a bit.
  5. Honey Pot:  Go over Laced Teddy to bring back that golden tone to the eyelid.
  6. Chocolate Cookie:  Apply this over cut crease created with eyeliner as well to build intensity.
  7. Cashmere Bunny:  Blend this shade on top of all the other shades where the cut crease is to further blur and blend out cut crease and create depth.
  8. Risque:  Smudge into the lower lash line.
  9. Sexpresso:  Use this shade over Risque to further smoke out lash line and also apply this VERY subtlety to the outer corner or eyelid.
